We are off!

For the English-speaking members of the trip things began with Carl and Mary Hunter driving their new campervan "Bigfoot" across Canada and the USA to ship it to Europe.

They were the last to start preparation and the first to start moving, a considerable achievement. On the way to Baltimore they had to drive through snowstorms in Wyoming.

Second off the mark were Stephen and Pat in their Unimog campervan. They plan to meet up with the Hunters in Italy, take a ferry to Greece and then on to Turkey.

The other three vans will leave the UK on the 9th or 10th of April and are traveling a more challenging route via Rumania.

All the anglophones will meet up in Istanbul on the 21st or 22nd of April.
